I was looking for an iPhone 12, just curious where you got the 11 from?

I would be surprised if ANY network was much better up there.

The OFCOM coverage checker is very good. If you put in a postcode it will show you what coverage there is by network. The really useful bit is to follow the link to the coverage map. That allows you to zoom in and out, and there's a drop down box where you can choose which provider.

Inverness? try over on the west, any large town or city will have a reasonable mobile signal.
