Save money on expensive handlebar tape by using cheap plumbers PTFE tape. Avoid wet weather riding though...

Save money on expensive padlocks by parking your bike in the middle of a museum and dressing it up like an exhibit whenever you go to the shops.

don't waste money on an authentic 1970s Raleigh chopper, simply weld a large bolt to the top tube of your current bike making sure you slide off the seat, be sure to make sure your family jewels come into contact (violently) with the previously mentioned large bolt for the authentic experience....
