Slightly old thread resurrection time.
The below photo has been taken from the up this page post from April 2022, so it's almost 3 years old. As you can see the white lines of the disabled bay were faded then, so 3 years on being much worse I asked Lancashire County Council if they could repaint the lines and the disabled sign. I received a letter from them yesterday asking me to send them copies/proof of my blue badge, evidence of entitlement enhanced rate of PIP and my driving license. They start their letter with "I refer to your enquiry regarding the disabled parking bay outside of your property". To start with, the bay isn't outside my property which I told them in my phone call to them and I'm not or ever said I was on the enhanced rate of the mobility component of PIP. Unless I am having scored 12 points in my last assessment. My gripe is why do they need this evidence as LCC will already have knowledge of my blue badge entitlement seeing as it's them who issued it and why do I have to provide it when asking them to repaint white lines on a road?! The disabled bay isn't exclusively for me. It's there for anyone with a blue badge, so do the other users of the bay have to send such documents to prove they can park there, or do you only have to send such documents when you want the council to come out and repaint some lines? It's as if they are making it very difficult to do a simple job! During the phone call I was told it'll have to be 'assessed by a technician' to see if it needs repainting before it gets the go ahead! Again, all I'm asking for is for the white lines to be made visible again! I'm tempted to tell them I'll do it myself such is their bureaucratic way of doing things!
Oh, and the parking restrictions sign post you can see in the foreground of the above 3 year old photo, having been bent over 3 months previous was snapped off and taken away by a LCC worker on the 22nd of November last year, with him putting an orange traffic bollard over the left behind metal stump. I said to a neighbour who like me saw him do it that that'll still be there next summer! Well after the bollard has been chucked about my all types passing it, and replaced by the likes of me, 4 months later it's still there!
