Some of the coverage (14.00 - 17.00, 22.00 - 05.00, 13.00 - 16.00) will be on the Quest free to air channel and various manufacturers will have in-car streams on Youtube if they continue as per previous years.

Good re quest coverage will have to see as I think it was only free for first hour but I might be wrong

I did watch loads of the race one year many years ago

watched the start and first hour or so and went off for a while came back for a while

then watched a fair bit in the evening and into the night

I think alcohol might have been involved

then came back the next morning (after a lie in which the dog worried about) and watched a bit more

It does go on a bit - but that is the nature of it

but it was good to give it a proper go and get the general concept over time as it went on

in case it is not obvious - I was "between girlfriends" at the time
(although in my case that doesn;t narrow things down much!!!!)

I watched the whole 24 hrs of it too, many years ago .I prepared well and went to bed v early night before. I consumed many cans of beer during the race. \i fell asleep a few times ( nodded off for a few minutes ) it was a good experience in some ways , it taught me a very valuable lesson. Never do it again

Yeah - I never watched it all
but when I did a lot of it having a dog that needed walking was a help because I was forced to go out at least 3-4 times

but it was interesting
bit like watching the whole stage of a Grand Tour (etc) where the commentators run out of "interesting" things to say and start talking about all sorts of stuff

maybe Carlton would like a job working on Le Mans???

Hah!

I did that most years back in the day, although most memorably five on the trot from '89 through to '93.

Albeit this was with the radio commentary and the reports on what was then Radio 2 by Simon Taylor. And yes, I used to take notes, and build up a complete profile of the race as it ebbed and flowed. I've actually since spoken to Simon about this, and I got a lot of really good insight about what was involved in the coverage. And the personal cost.

I shan't repeat any of it here, because I promised not to, but I am *STILL* giggling... :giggle:

The only real why to watch it is at the circuit and with Radio le mans on or at least that's what was the best way the 3 times I went down in the mid 80's and early 90's often combined with a weekend in Belgium the following weekend for the Ypres rally..

Oh those really were the days

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but anyone who hasn't read "The Formula" really should. It is without doubt the best book on F1 I've ever read, gives a great and at times very amusing insight into the shenanigans and the heros and villains in the sport.

Available in The Works for three quid. I couldn't put it down

I'm currently watching on Quest. Will be switching to Radio Le Mans shortly until 10pm.

Oh and yes. This smells like a three day old dead mackerel shining in the moonlight. And if one was to follow the smell, I bet it will lead back to our tin-plated dictator with delusions of godhood...

A clampdown on stewards commenting post race was well overdue.

Also anyone associated with a betting company should be automatically banned from positions that affect the results or running of a sport. Whatever the sport.

I think DW has been set up to be a scapegoat, just like Johnny Herbert and Dave Richards. Bin Sulayem has slowly but surely been silencing anyone who has the temerity to oppose him. And it's not helping that the stewards have to contend with a Sporting Code that quite frankly, isn't fit for purpose.

And yes, in this instance I'm talking about someone who I know, albeit not terribly well. We do have a number of mutual friends, however, and this is a man who, in my personal judgement, would not be quite so stupid to open his gob when he shouldn't, despite being painfully forthright at the best of times.

This is purely political IMHO, and has absolutely nothing to do with ethics.

You don't have to agree with my opinion of course.
