If you know what's good for you ...
I don't find the 45s too big myself. My tyres are 700x32.
So are you saying the P35`s will fit my bike/tryes even though the stated guide are for 20-28 tyres? So im right in thinking p45=45mm & p35=35mm?
You can fit 35's with the P35's if you set them up properly.Perso, I think you should stick to the manufacturer's guidelines. As I said, I don't find the 45s too wide with my 700x32s - but that's my opinion, others may certainly disagree. Also, I like to allow myself the possibility of fitting 700x35s, which the P45s will allow.
The new captive endcaps will almost certainly require the stays to be cut if they are to be fitted as designed. However, if you cut the top off the end cap then you could possibly get away without cutting the stays. The Commuters don't have the captive end caps so they might not need to be cut, but stays that are too long can aggravate toe overlap issues.Sorry to contradict, but I've fitted 3 sets now and none needed cutting. They do take time to fit though.
35s will be too tight with 32mm tyres. Get the 45s, even 28mm tyres are a very neat fit with 35s.Yes, thats why I asked about size. Because my tyres are 32 the recommended width would be 45mm? like the chromo P45? I did want them to look as minimalistic as possible which is putting me off the big rubber flaps BUT i dont want spray up my back![]()
Blumels have thinner stays than Chromoplastic and the Chromoplastics have all stainless steel fittings. I'm not sure if the plastic is of the same quality, but I've had 2 sets of Blumels crack in the rear guard in the space of last year. I got the last set replaced under warranty with the Longboards. I've had the Commuters too and they are fine, but just a bit shorter than the others so not great for the rider behind. This is why I love this forum, Good advice and different views. The P45`s dont look that big (thx for the pics). So from what I can gather the Longboards are chromo`s with big flaps, chromo`s give you the option of flaps and reflector, the bluemels are basic?
The only thing that confuses me is chromo`s say 45mm for my tyres but bluemels 35mmThere is a slight price difference in the 3 choices but not much, If I went for bluemels 35mm then when at a later date my original tyres wear out I was going to go down to 28`s so these would`nt seem over sized as supposed to if I went for p45 chromo/longboards.
Many thanks for your input peeps, seems the 35mm bluemels are winning but I will check with whichever shop I purchase from.
They are probably riveted on there, so a right pain to get off.Got bike out an hour ago ready for tonights commute and took tape measure with me. 45mm would`nt actualy look too big, definately going for black though. Just one question, if I went for the longboards are the flaps removable? ie: just a few screws so I could pick and choose which would suit?
