I don't think so
I also had a pair of Zebra print

I had aztec patterns on mine

As I have mentioned several times, my summer attire is a T-shirt and rugby shorts. They are also my riding attire. To go for a ride, all I have to do is put on my cycling shoes. I worked 47 years in a suit and a tie, and now T-shirt and rugby shorts it is!!! Maybe some of my now daily attire is rebellion from my working days. For 47 years I had to dress up. I even have a T-shirt that says on the front-----------------"this is as dressed up as I get".

Who'd have thought that me wearing my cycling gear to go fishing would develop into a thread for Rod Stewart wannabes, lol.

Rod dresses like this on his bike

Go back a few decades and apart from those racing, no one wore cycling specific gear. You’d just wear your usual clothing with ankle clips if wearing long trousers.
Quite a few decades.

I wore cycling specific clothing when I was cycling to work in the late 80's, and a lot of the other cyclists I saw were also doing so.

In fact if I am just out doing utility riding, shopping etc on my Brompton then I’ll will not change specifically before heading out.

If I'm doing anything more than a couple of miles, I just find proper cycling gear more comfortable than the casual clothes I wear around the house.

Back in school days I’d just cycle in my school uniform which included a blazer.

Yes, i did that as well (in the early-mid 70's). And I just wore my normal weekend casual clothes if I was going out for a ride outside of riding to school.

Do we actually have any young guys on this forum! Everyone seems to fall into the 50+ bracket, or at least a large % do.

When us older guys started riding decades ago were there even that many cycling specific options regarding clothing? The industry nowadays is a monster of course but it hasn't always been that way.

I've done the shorts, t-shirt and trainers thing but once I heard about marginal gains I soon bought all the "proper" gear, lol.

That way I shot from about 20kph average speed up to 20.5kph, lol.

WFH my right hand has been suffering cold of late and typing became difficult. I couldn’t work out why because left hand was fine. Then light bulb moment 💡Left rests on laptop keyboard (warm) whilst right is on the mouse (I.e. cold desk) which saps heat out of it. Cycling mitts now being put to secondary use.
