One of Carruthers many talents is keeping a sharp eye on the use of Americanisms in English. Unless we could train a dog to recognise "defense" rather than "defence", for instance, and then judiciously apply the necessary punishments, then our language would deteriorate even more rapidly, which I'd be loath to see. Carruthers can sometimes be a bit over-enthusiastic in his use of thumbscrews or the Cat o' 9 Tails, so maybe a spell in the wheel himself would give him a chance for a recalibration. I'll think the issue through.
The dog shouldn't have any problems recognising defence, it should be familiar with at least one post.

It's a warm and occasionally sunny day here chez Casa Reynard. A bit blustery though.

Slept OK-ish. Still feel grotty (a rather stuffed head), but my daily dose of antihistamines seems to be taking care of the leaky nose side of things. I am actually glad I didn't go to Cam Cat as I would find stewarding something of a tough ask today.

I *did* go to St Etheldreda's to get my basket of Easter food blessed. They have changed things (new priest) so instead of the priest being available between 12 and 1pm to conduct the blessings as and when needed, they now only do the one, and a second if needed. That explains why there wasn't a parking space to be had within reasonable walking distance, and also explains why I ended up sitting in traffic twiddling my thumbs. I had to drive to the Post Office depot at the edge of town to be able to turn around safely. Mind you, by the time I got back to the church, traffic and heaving hordes had gone. The priest was tidying up, but he was kind enough to stop and bless my basket anyway. Which was lovely.

I am about to have luncheon, and then I shall watch the boat races before tootling off to Tesco for the reductions.

Oh, and my day didn't start terribly well, as I stepped into a (cold) pool of cat sick that I didn't see... Yuk!

Armageddon is nigh.

Aldi have installed self-service tills.

2 of the 7 in my local Aldi were dead this afternoon so for once had to queue. Generally they have made the shop there quicker. The air ambulance circled over head as I walked there and settled down on a patch land on the north side of the A59. If it looks rather close to a building fear not that is a block of flats with no windows in the east elevation. Presumably half of one of those awful back to back housing units that are being put up these days .
