Windy and generally wet day. Postie brought a new rubber plug for the outlet end of the ebikes front brake hydraulic system. A lump of blu tak has been doing a good job but it probably a bit too much of a bodge.
Weather was pretty unpleasant for an afternoon work in Rainton. The half hour lunch got extended to be logged as 50 minute. Firstly by a 10 minute visit into the Simply Food at Ripon for 3 bananas and a TV guide. The scales jammed up so had to wait for them to be unjammed - why only one set🤔 The intention had been to use a Topcashback sourced gift voucher but I pressed to pay by card:sad:
Returned via Knareborough and caught by 3 way temp lights before nipping into Lidl. 13 items bought in a further 10 minute period.

It's been a warm and very blustery day here chez Casa Reynard. A cloudy start, but the sun came out in the afternoon.

Slept OK-ish. The usual choresy morning was had - which included sorting out the cat food store. I also managed to squeeze in a bit more on the Reynard 893 drawing - mainly sorting out the front suspension & steering arms.

A lovely luncheon of two slices of wholemeal toast, one with potted turkey, and the other with cheddar & coleslaw, plus some fruit (red orange & pineapple) and a :cuppa:

Spent the afternoon outside doing some gardening. In this case, clearing up some more winter storm damage in the wood. This was made more "fun" by the ivy entangled in the branches, and some elderberries in awkward places. But things are starting to look a lot neater, and I'm happy with what I've done. Nice to get some exercise, as it's way too windy to go out on the bike.

Now sat with a :cuppa: while watching some gymnastics.

Oh dear! I need to give my friends on here some bad news.

Over the past four weeks, I have spent two consecutive days (six hours each day or thereabouts) in the Same Day Emergency Clinic at the Hospital in Worcester. They were trying to find out if I had IBS or Diverticulitis, but found suspicious cells on my liver.

The diagnosis, (are you sitting down? ) is secondary cancer of the liver. This was followed by blood tests, scans, more tests, meeting a Consultant, and then more tests. Yesterday I started treatment. It is controllable but not "curable".

Clearly a bit of a bugger day for a few of us.
Be strong and follow instructions.

Instructions so far include, but are not limited to:

do not lose weight
do not attend festivals. I presume that means not Glastonbury or Glyndebourne, rather a local small music event in the park.
keep active
avoid rhubarb and spinach

My liver function is normal, surprisingly, and alcohol is permitted. My consumption of Port, White, Ruby or any other variety would add up to about five "shot" glasses of Port so far this year. ^_^
