Yesterday's Tesco order to avoid the small order charge included a pack of reduced price, but still expensive compared to shop own brand, Duracell Optimum AAAs. Have to say the claimed 200% more power looks to be true as having put three in my outdoor temperature/humidity display I cannot recall seeing it so clear.

The ideal way to fit grips is to use Hairspray, helps them to slide on then sets in half an hour or so

Who do you know who uses hairspray?

I don't really 'know' many people at all, since a mechanic at a bike shop told me this trick I've used it myself on my Raleigh Outlander, my Ridgeback flat bar, the Raleigh 'City' 3 speed, the Saracen Blitz and my Trike and also on a couple of MTB's that have been stolen over the years. The rest either have Drops or Bullhorns so are taped (all with Tressorex cloth)

Good morning from yet again sunny Suffolk. A much cooler start to the day than of recent and the wind's dropped to barely noticeable.

Coffee and breakfast have been had. I think I'm going to make the most of what looks to be the last of the good weather for a few days and go out on one of my one way bike rides for lunch and get a train home.

Lovely 35 miles completed across to Stowmarket - I don't think I'll compare my times against the pros on the Tour of Britain from last week on some of the same roads.

Lunch turned out to be more liquid than anticipated 🍺, so cooking tea shortly may be 'interesting'
