I've got Paul Daniels washing machine! I did some washing yesterday and 2 socks disappeared! Not a pair but one of each colour. I have just looked in the washing basket and spun the washing machine drum but couldn't find them.

I seem having that problem too. That is unless they are hiding in a duvet cover or similar. There is a black plug behind the front lower casing on my washer which you can undo and see if there is anything trapped there. Or at least that's the theory as its that tight I cannot get it undone. 20% off clothing in Sainsbury's this evening so a pack of 7 new pairs bought. Also another sweatshirt as one of the new ones I bought the other week seems to have had spray back from some household cleaner aftect it and has strange orange spots. Also a new T shirt with 70% off.

That's the F1 Sprint qualifying watched. Hot chocolate next and then possibly a cold beer or three.

A quiet day was had in the end as I just fancied doing as little as possible. It was interrupted by the unexpected appearance of sunshine in the early afternoon so I went out for a 20 mile pootle while it lasted. I made up for it when I got home by putting my feet up and not moving for an hour while I read a bit of Private Eye.

A mixed bag weatherwise here chez Casa Reynard, but mild nonetheless.

Slept well enough, but could've done with a bit longer in bed. Cleared all the chores, then made a big pot of curried parsnip & sweet potato soup. Skipped luncheon to go out and bring a couple more wheelbarrows of firewood in, as the sun was shining. Won't be able to do any for the next few days, as the weather is looking particularly soggy. It actually started raining just as I was packing up.

Eventually a :cuppa: and toast with marmite was had.

Then off to Lidl in Downham Market. It's a new store, and handily, it's just by the A10 on the roundabout for the A1122 to Swaffham. A 20 minute drive from here, which is very convenient - far less faff than going to March or Huntingdon. It's a big store, but still only 2/3 the size of the one in Huntingdon. Downside is they don't carry the same number of lines, but it's much less of a faff to get to.

Picked up all the bits I wanted for Sinterkaas next week, and for various Christmas boxes (postman, bin men etc) and other gifts. The biskits and the lebkuchen is so much nicer than anything Tesco can muster, and it's less sweet than the offerings from Aldi. Prices have definitely gone up around 25% on most festive items compared to last year, and some things, like the poppy seed stollen are now mini sized rather than big ones. I bought what was necessary, but avoided chucking stuff into the trolley "just because" - there will be things I intend on targeting during clearance.

Lovely supper of soup with crusty bread and butter (I did pick up a nice rustic baguette in the bakery), and the last of the apple crumble and custard.

A quiet evening is planned, because I'm bloody cream crackered.

Ahead of Black Friday, I got a lovely bargain on the Bay of E. ^_^ I would like a proper/formal winter coat (instead of fleece). So for the princely sum of £23 plus £3 postage, I bought this one. It is very similar to this but in black, brand new with tags. It is a tad on the large size but that is so much more comfy than a close fit. The price from sparky pencer is rather "spendy" at £200.

Maybe a rename to " Speicherin" is appropriate. Very bad German and I might have misread the clues.

Also is the coat really suited to cycling. And it might catch in the wheels.
