One of my friends donates hers to needy local charities. Lovely idea I think.

Some of my Premium Prize money has been donated to the local Community Cupboard. That is similar to a food bank, but take fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy etc, that is close to its sell-by/use-by date. They are pleased to receive money donations so that, for example, they can purchase special baby formulae.

I also donate to Kiva.org which provides interest-free loans, and advice to people worldwide. When the loan starts to be repaid, I get credited with the repayments, to make another loan. Approximate ten per cent of recipients go into default.

You still needing one , I can give a 10% blue light card one if that helps ?

Thanks. I have a few codes now & I guess I'd have to produce a blue flashing card to receive that discount.

Then it's wrong , I think I read something about letters had been sent out in error.
https://www.gov.uk/winter-fuel-payment , has all the information on who can and can't get it

I have just re-read the letter. It says that if I pay tax the allowance will be repaid in the tax I pay. So I presume it will be counted as my income, but not necessarily all clawed back in tax.
