Pity that it turned into such a grey afternoon after a promising start to the day. At least it was dry and I got the daily fresh air & exercise in as it looks like Thursday's going to be a wet one. An accidental half hour snooze was had in the late afternoon - I wasn't tired but just lay down on the sofa to listen to a podcast only to wake up in the dark.

Almost time to get off my backside & make the evening's hot chocolate.

I have just upset a poster on FB,he posted a video of the famous farm on the M62,while panning he filmed his driver mate using his mobile to photograph the farm, quite clearly,i pointed it out,he was a bit snotty with a notification message.

Trial run tomorrow, the advantage of using turkey breast steaks. Concern being how well the stuffing balls and pigs in blanket cook

Here's one idea for you...

Roll the turkey breast steaks around the stuffing, season with a bit of pepper and sage, and then roll that in bacon. Sear in a pan and pop the pan in an oven (180C fan) for around 15 mins, depending on the thickness of the turkey.

BTW @tom73 your missus is a genius! Please convey my thanks xxx

My leg feels SO much better with that blasted compression bandage and padding gone. My ankle is thanking me for that, as is my foot. Wound is still seeping a little, and yes there's still some swelling and briusing, but it's manageable. I left the inner gel layer on, and just slapped the dressing on top of all of that.

Oh, and that first scratch after the bandage came off... Oh myyyyyyy, that was absolute bliss!

Did i tell you all poor son's roof is dead.He needs a new one, what a shocker before Christmas.Well scaffolding comes tomorrow.Luckily its a little roof a 1920's row of miners houses it seems.Price is good also insulation in the loft is included along with taking away any left over stuff left by previous owners.Mamnchester is a very wet place, two ceilings damaged.Lets hope there are no more surprises in store,we have all chipped in to help, they are getting their inheritance in bits and bats .

My dinner tomorrow will be fish and chips, your dinners sound so exotic.

My mum trained in a professional (hotel restaurant) kitchen in Oostende, and she taught me how to cook.

Can't beat a damn good fish and chips though. As long as there's no mushy peas, those bloat me up like Harry Potter's Aunt Marge, as there's something in the process (dye most likely) that doesn't agree with me.

Halfway point of the working week completed. This week is really dragging. I am not a Christmas person but am looking forward to two whole days off next week.

Frost is gone today. Much milder and we had some rain.

I had an enjoyable twenty miles despite a heavy shower. Traffic quite heavy again. I have no idea why even minor roads seem to have so much traffic now. My SA hub is now operating nice and quietly. Bearing adjustment is really critical to them. Unsure how I had it so wrong in the first place.

I'm drinking a glass of Ribena.

And for the record, mushy peas are xx(
