The ferry from Belfast to Stranraer wasn't too bouncy, with OK snacks in the Premium lounge.

After a very floody drive we're overnighting with son no. 2 at Brampton, as SWMBO wanted to visit his house.

Only okay, with the prices they charge for their "free" food.

They have definitely skimped on snacks compared to previous trips, together with removing bottled water and takeaway coffee cups.

I tend to book Premium because of the added flexibility, with early departure being useful.

Good morning from a very dull and damp Suffolk. Opening the curtains this morning didn't do much for the internal light levels it was that gloomy. Coffee has been had.

Looks like there was quite a bit of overnight rain and more is forecast for later on, so this morning is going to be domestics time possibly followed up by doing a bit of present wrapping and then I'll see what I fancy doing for the rest of the day.

It's started raining again, although it looks like the very heavy stuff will be just to the west - fingers crossed.

Apart from a visit to see dad and stepmother on Friday or Saturday and collecting the flowers for mum's birthday on the 24th, that's me done. Bedding changed & washed, vacuuming done, kitchen floor swept, cards written & presents wrapped.

Time for a celebratory cuppa and then to put my feet up for a while.
