I have just watched the original They Should Have Asked Evans The one with Miss Marpel.

Having watched the new adaptation why do they have to mess about with what was for me a perfect story line. I understand viewers are not happy with Great Expectations. I watched the first two episodes.won’t be bothering with any more..

The Miss Marple one is not quite right she was never in it. It's one of Christie's stand alone stories.
As for the rest of the newer Marple's they are so fair off the plots they may as well be new stories. The 2 who tried to play Marple don't even come close to Hickson who we know was Christie's pick to play the part.
The bigger crime is the re-writing of some of her books to be more inclusive and match todays values.
After all If I book was wrote in 1930 you'd expect it to reflect the social attitudes of the time.

A loose reworking was made by ITV in 2011 with the time period changed to the 1950s with Miss Marple a friend of Bobby's mother. Earlier LWT in 1980 made a pretty accurate to the book version. That is if Wikipedia is correct: wikipedia.org/wiki/Why_Didn%27t_They_Ask_Evans%3F

Remained sunny all day but still windy.
Felt completely knackered so had a rest day and achieved virtually nothing plus a nap on my garden seat again.
Just looked out my front window and there is a strange boat heading up the Sound. Looks like the MV Alfred but it was supposed to be doing the Arran run.
Some story I read somewhere but cannot find just now that there are complications with the Pentalina which was to take over the Orkney route while the Alfred was away. It may be heading back north again to Orkney.
Strange that nobody has put excited comments on FB to look out for it.

After a bit of ferreting around the vessel I saw does not seem to be the MV Alfred which is reported as being somewhere around the Pentland Firth. Size and colour was similar and definitely a catamaran but the bridge looked a bit different tho' that could be down to the angle it was seen from.
No doubt there will be comments on FB later.

Do you ever use marine traffic to see what's what? https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-5.2/centery:56.5/zoom:8

They are. Everything on them just works so well. Plus the barrel has a much bigger capacity than any foot pump, so the job just gets done quicker and easier.

Don't think I've used a foot pump at all since buying the Joe Blow six years ago. Nuff said, really.

I replaced 'our' compressor with two Joe Blow pumps; never missed it.

I certainly never missed it's habit of switching itself on at random moments.

I lob mine in the car's toolbox if going further afield. I'm thinking of buying one just to keep in the car tbh.

Foot pumps are SO yesterday

Having had no joy waiting for new parts for the new tap for the sink in the van. I went back to basics and had a good look and play round with the old one. So yesterday I finally got the broken connecter out the botton of the tap, replaced the connector and get the bottom fixing plate to go on level. So all fixed i went off to refit it. So today i've clean the jerry cans and pipe work with puriclean. Then came the problems I fitted the pipe so it was well out the way and less likely to snap to off. Only to find it meant the both jerry cans wont fit the locker. 2rd problem the pipe is leaking.
So once again I had to get wedged in under the sink and few :cursing: words later I removed the cold pipe and the blanked off hot. Then refit them the other way round. It's still leaking tomorrow I will move the jubilee clip a few mm's lower and see how it go's.

Was hoping to get other jobs gone before we hopefully go away at the weekend looks tomorrow will be a catch up day.
