Itching to get back on my bike's
- Location
- Northamptonshire
How can it be Monday morning already?
Good morning.
As is often the case we seem to be getting your second hand weather: it's absolutely pishing it down
Before the cruise boats Mull was a lovely place to visit.
You found a mooring and pumped up the dinghy and rowed ashore.
Did the pubs and rowed back. Taking care not to fall in when effecting the transfer back to the boat.
Is the Chinese still there? Or has it been yuppified into some eating experience venue?
Then they built the pontoons and so on.
Bunesan became a much nicer place to hide. No obvious pub or chippie.
I promise not to bring my campervan but I might park and come on my bike.
First cuppa went down well, my tea drinking reached a new low yesterday I was offered an oat milk cuppa which I duly accepted....... Boy it was disgusting and I haven't had a decent cuppa since I think it must have scared me for life
The Rebellion Way appears to be a bit north of here, being Norfolk based, but the weather would most likely be the same - mixed and most definitely in the lucky dip category*. Bring waterproofs, sunscreen, shorts & thermals no matter what time of year you do it. The worst problem you may face is the wind (especially on the North Norfolk coast) as it's relatively flat and with not too many hedges to act as wind breaks with all the open fields. See also below regarding temperature variations with different areas. I've done some of the roads to the south west of Norwich (Diss, Thetford, Attleborough) and you will need to beware that the narrow roads can be in a poor state, especially after rain, as it's a sandy soil with plenty of fun off from the fields.
*Two Sundays ago I was at Snetterton and was quite cold on the spectator banks, went for a gentle bike ride and less than 10 miles away in Attleborough I was overheating with two fewer layers.
Sounds as though it scarred you and frightened you at one and the same time. Anyway how does one milk an oat ? it sounds very time consuming and not very productive![]()
