Second cuppa went down well
Just watched a startling fly across the rear garden and en route it dropped a bit of bread it was carrying in its beak as soon as the bread landed a pigeon swooped down and flew off with it

Sunny intervals today with still a northerly cold wind.
Strange after me saying I had not seen a swallow for years there was one sitting on the phone wires opposite my house this morning. Only one so perhaps it's mate did not make it back.
Knee is a bit better this morning but still swollen so better rest it a bit longer. OTOH exercise may be good for it.
Got a whattsap message this morning from a random source which I have blocked.

By coincidence, I noticed a swift yesterday. That was the first I've seen this year.

In further bird news, I also saw two magpies being pretty brutal towards a pigeon. They wanted its piece of what looked like a crust. The thing is that once they got rid of the pigeon, they discovered that they didn't like it and took to eating insects instead.

My sister-in-law's father lives in Alberta and has COPD. He can't leave his house because of the amount of smoke in the air. Constant wind, heat and drought has turned Alberta's forests into a big wildfire.

While ordering for the bike workshop I looked up WD 40, as supplies have been intermittent for a while and I try to keep a pre-order in.

oh dear, sorry to hear that. do they have some interior air filtration? like portable HEPA air filters

I don't think they do but I'll check.
