I did a computer programming course in 1969 ish. We had to write a flow chart and create (I can't remember how) punch cards that got fed into a slot in a big cabinet.
It clicked and whirred before producing a result (if you were lucky 🍀)

not quite googling of today; instant & complete gratification. amazing

I've noticed this evening that my resident big exhaust and bodykit emblazoned Corsa driving boyracer has upgraded to a white Honda Civic with big exhaust and bodykit.

At least he's got four cylinders now!

what is wrong w/ those kids. if they could only see themselves in a mirror, objectively. but then. they probably say the same about us, eh?

I remember the BBC Acorn computers we had at school.

We played L - A Mathemagical Adventure on them.

A couple of wealthy friends had home computers. I seem to remember playing Pong at some point.

The days of a "computer room" or one for the whole school on trolly and excitement of being told the lesson was on the computers.
Remember that maths one we also had a program that worked out the cost of ingredients for home economics.
I do remember one of our history teachers had an early day Apple Mac which he use to bring into school to us.

Remember reading an interview with the guy behind the Acorns. When they tried to get into the market in the US.
They hit a problem some rule about all the ports on the side of electric device had to be useable. They lacked the money to recast the case and have two different machines to manage. So they just covered them with a blanking plate which put off people buying them.
So they never broke the market which become it's downfall. If it had things would have been very different
