Turned out not a bad day tho’ a bit windy.
Spent ages fighting Calmac. I was told there were no mid morning boats on the day I wanted so booked the 1400.
I noticed subsequently a change to timetable and there is now a mid morning boat.
Down to the office which I find closed due to staff sickness.
Phone Craignure but got diverted and you have to listen to at least 5 or 10 minutes of rubbish before getting a person who sounded less than confident but changed my booking to 1140 which is what I wanted in the first place.
They send a confirmatory email and I am booked in the same direction twice on the same day which does not seem sensible.
Phone Craignure again and it transpires there is now no 1400 sailing so no need to cancel that. The guy on the phone agrees that the verbal barrage at the start is not helpful and they get lots of complaints about it.
Get home and they have sent a text telling me my check in time has been brought forward by 3 hours with no explanation.
Another of the joys of island life.

On a more prosaic note went to the dump where I was tempted by a nice pan somebody had put in the charity shop container but resisted the theft temptation.
Checked my car tyres before my next trip off.

Had a lovely luncheon of a seafood stick sandwich, a pear, a fabulous Lord Burleigh apple and two :cuppa:

Then went out to the edge of the wood to finish tidying up that ash tree and turning it into logs. While out there, I noticed two dead oaks, another dead ash and a dead cherry, all in a clump a little bit further down. I took advantage of the fact that the wind had dropped from earlier and felled all four. No danglies this time, they all came down cleanly, exactly where I wanted. They've been cut into sections and stacked along with the rest of the first ash tree. Did cut a wheelbarrow of logs to bring back and stash in the garage. I shall carry on with this tomorrow.

Wasn't the usual postie on the round this morning (usual chap leaves large stuff in a safe sheltered spot), so I will have to go to the depot in town tomorrow to pick up a parcel. Might pop into Aldi while I'm there as it's next to the depot.

Anyways, now enjoying a slice of panettone and a :cuppa:

This depends on what you are doing, of course. I'm thinking the early stop is more likely to be better for your work/life balance.
It turned out that the 17:15* was not necessarily better for my personal balance, but it enabled the purchase of a very nice pint of Acorn Endeavour IPA to go with the Magpie Jay IPA which I was getting near the bottom of when posting earlier.
