Why they set ever other official holiday ? It's not the job of men in frocks to have any power over our laws or parliament.
But they do and are allowed to have get out's of laws they don't like. Only Iran allows them to have the same about of power.

They don't set Christmas.

been craving pancakes at all the wrong times. are they good? anything added such as blue berries? choc chips? strawberries? syrup? butter?

Syrup and butter, probably maple flavored corn syrup, I lived near a factory that made that, it is okay, but I prefer maple though. and live a few miles north of a sugarbush now. I am in hospital now, so I just get plain pancake here if I order them. Small RC hospital, so nothing fancy.

Mild-ish, grey and drizzly here chez Casa Reynard. Had some overnight rain too.

Did not sleep well - a combo of night sweats and my brain not wanting to switch off due to information overload. As a result, I feel really tired and grumpy. I have had a quiet morning as a result. I have sorted out the ingredients to make a pot of soup later. I will also have to restock the wood bins on the house later too.

I've brought my printer in from the utility room as I need to re-print some stuff I did earlier this month. I'd added some notes on several articles based on the information I had to hand at the time. The assumptions I made seemed logical enough, but after having dived into that newspaper archive last weekend, details have come to light that have kiboshed them somewhat.

No matter, getting things right is far more important than any kind of bruised pride. I'm really pleased to have finally nailed down the dates and venues for a phase of Paul's stock car career that had been bugging me for quite some time. It means I now have a better idea of where to look for more details.

I've also made some more notes for the novel, as I had a few good ideas recently. I'm enjoying developing a set of teenage female characters known collectively as the Giggly Gang. They are, in part, based on some of my classmates at school...

Anyways, time for luncheon.

Not true I'm afraid.

Sorry but it is most christian festivals in this county are long established Pagan festivals taken over and changed to suit the churches doctoring. Easter come's from long held festival celebrating goddess Eastre. Even Christmas both the time it's celebrated and many of it's tradition's have been taken over and changed by the church. Much of which involved days of merriment seen as not in keeping with religious celebration no wonder Cromwell banned it.

They don't set Christmas.

But they do it's in statue as a bank holiday, If it fall's on Sunday legally the Monday after becomes a substitute day.
Like last year technically Christmas day was 27th.
