What a miserable day - it started out grey & damp and stayed like that. There was what looked like a break in the drizzle around midday, so I went out to get a bit of shopping by bike only for the wetness to start up again on the way home. At least the bedding got changed and the removed stuff washed, the vacuuming done, the kitchen floor cleaned and the bath & bog got a bit of a scrubbing.

Now enjoying a hot chocolate before an earlyish night as it's back to work tomorrow.

The rest will do you good.

For better or worse, I am now the proud owner of a bright red 2006 Toyota Yaris with 1000cc of raw power. I went after work to have another look at it and paid a deposit. I will collect it tomorrow night and pay him the rest of the money after I withdraw it from the bank tomorrow.

I liked the Yaris when I drove it, but liked the Mitsubshi Lancer better. Back when. Went through 10 years with the Lancer, no repairs.

Obviously I have had only two fairly short test drives so time will tell but I love the bright, airy feel to the interior, such a contrast to the claustrophobic Fabia and I like the refinement which I felt was impressive for a small, cheap car. The ride quality is seems pretty impressive and like the feel of the car on corners. The steering is nice and positive too; horribly vague steering is my biggest gripe with the Fabia.

I didn't expect to like the centrally mounted digital instruments but actually I do. The whole layout of the dashboard seems very logical, uncluttered and ergonomically friendly and offers lots of storage spaces. As the previous owner says, half the problem is putting things in some of the many storage compartments and then forgetting where you left them

Just met a dog in a 'wheelchair'... in the pub.

A 6 year old Greyhound with his back legs affected by some sort of spinal problem.
He wobbled about saying hello to everyone, but he got his wheels on for going home 😍😍😍

got a new started. hopefully by the end of May we'll have 4 or more rejuvenated plants to put in the ground outside

trying something new this year by covering them to keep them moister & warmer. they are under a skylight on our top floor

whacky weather for November. 71F degrees my Mom's rose bush just popped a flower! usually the second blooming is still within the summer months. never happened this year. but November?

the palm plants recently shriveled up so their bulbs have to be stripped & boxed in the basement TODAY

just took them out again. so boxed from November thru the beginning of March

I think I'll bring a 3rd in for our top floor under the skylight. we moved our bedroom so I'll have to go up there to water it once a week. the others I'll cut down to bulbs & store in the basement until next March, I think

the one that spent the winter in our living room didn't do well, but alive. Wifey's is doing well at her school classroom
