There is a small village, on the opposite side of the Water, called Portinscale. I have stayed there many times. I can get a boat to Keswick or the south end of the Water, or a bus to the ? wild bird place.

Thank you @Speicher . We were planning on taking the boat over and walking back. The weather is a tad blowy so we'll check to see if the boat is running today. 👍

Urgh, had another episode there... In fact I am still having it... I have cut myself and I have been destroying more of the wall with my (deceptively coloured) kitchen knife (yes, Pink!) 😏
