Apologies in advance for ruining an earworm, but the only thing I hear when someone mentions 'Albatross' is John Cleese in Monty Python live at Drury Lane, that I was privileged to have attended, walking down the aisle, dressed in an usherettes mini-skirt, with an albatross on the top of the ice-cream tray proclaiming ALBATROSS... STORMY PETREL ON A STICK....

Good morning all. First coffee of the day downed with a late breakfast to follow shortly. It's somewhat windy out there, but at least it's (currently) dry so I'm off to Snetterton in just over an hour. Just got to wrap up warm, make a flask of coffee and then get some diesel on the way.

Wind not gusting severely this morning so a windy ebike trip into town and thankful at times it was the ebike as the assist was helpful with the headwind on some bits of the return.

The ebike broke new territory in using the southbound A61 pass the bus station so that I could nip into WHS and then pass the rail station before depositing me at Waitrose.

Not the best day of their coupons, I had failed to activate the 50p off apple slices and somehow had picked and activated 50p off 5 oranges rather than 2 pints of milk so looks like another visit needed their on Wednesday to use them up.

To rub it in the self service till decided to scan both the reduced and full price barcodes on a pack of 4 crumpets on their best before date and then when an assistant arrived he initially deleted the reduced price transaction.

Anyway, I believe there is a rink in Cambridge (something to do with the Uni??) that does it, although to be fair, the season is ending soon anyway, unfortunately:

https://cambridgecurling.co.uk/

The fees are a little high due to the energy crisis, sadly - We (our council run leisure centre rink in Greenock) are £14 a game and that is considered quite good going.
Random coincidence - I'll be using the Park & Ride site next to that ice rink on Monday as the base for a bike ride

Morning .
My favourite song was on the radio when I woke up this morning.
Yes!
Mac Arthur Park!
I was wondering if the cake might have been a sponge ?
Well! At least they couldn't say it tasted dry!
I was cleaning our bedroom this morning listening to a fine selection of The Kinks music, what they were doing in our bedroom i have no idea.I will ask Mrs P she knows everything its a gift passed down from her mother.

Driving back from Calne about 10 minutes ago I spotted a car had crashed through a hedge on the A4. I couldn't see if anyone eas in the car but noticed that there wasn't any police tape around it so I tried phoning the police from home . What a right palava! Bl**Dy automated answering service . Press 1 if you want your head examined ! Press 2 if your pants are too tight . Press 3 and so on ! All I wanted was to speak t someone to see if they knew about the accident ! It could have just happened or had been like it for hours ! It would be days going by their answering service ! I almost got to the point of ringing 999 when a person answered my call. She said that they knew about it and that things were being sorted . If it was a politician in the car I would have put camouflage netting over it !
