Bright sunny day and forecast to stay like that for several days.
Need to get some things packed for an early start tomorrow for a ferry trip if a ferry is working.
This is one of the main worries nowadays as today I got a text from Calmac saying the early boat will not be running due to an engine issue ie probably won't start.
I have left a bit of leeway to get there in time for various chores and a hospital appointment but who can tell?
Worry, worry, worry. Ain't life fun.

Edit at 0840. They have now got the engine going and back in business albeit a bit late running now for most of the day. This particular boat can seem to make up lost time perhaps by pushing the engine a bit harder or pushing passengers and cars off and on as fast as possible.

I may be wrong but the ferries sound somewhat unreliable. How long does it take between Mull and Oban Are there other routes to the mainland?

Yes you can take the tunnel. Just send me time and vehicle details with you bank details. We need passwords as well, tickets within two hours.
Ignore any phone calls from your alleged bank security - they are actually scammers.

Depends on which vessel but allow an hour Craignure to Oban. There are 2 other small ferries which the touroid think are wonderful but for practical use to me pretty useless.
Corran ferry is not working [ not Calmac run] so a trip to Oban is in the region of 120 additional miles and much of it on pretty dire single track and then the A82 to the A828 and last A85 if nobody has blocked Connel Bridge again. The Lochaline route is useable if going east or north if Corran ferry is working but being scenic is of no interest to me as I am travelling and not sightseeing.

Trudged to Screwfix this morning, discovered I needed a tub of fine surface filler Also picked up some beige sealant as the new sink basin pedestal is noticeably narrower than the existing and I hope the beige matches the vinyl floor better than using white.

In this town there is an Ironmonger. Do you remember those?

I have sometimes checked their prices against other suppliers, and they are very competitive. If you wanted to, you could buy two bolts or one hinge. They also deliver large/heavy items without charge.

Admittedly they are closed on Bank Holidays and Sundays, but that, in my case, is irrelevent.

Ah, are you using the full-on software, or the drivers only?

I got an answer to my question on Amazon: apparently the 2400dpi refers to the document you're scanning, not the scanner.

The only Scottish Island I have visited is Sky and that was long before the bridge was opened. We were camping but stayed at Harlosh youth hostel as two friends were wardens there.

It must have been in the early sixties. No crowds of tourists Very peaceful

I would love to visit the Western islands but by all reports would take some planning

I won’t take up your kind offer but I think I have just become claustrophobic 😜😜😜
