Wifey will be glad I got them tho. wish the lenses were more perfectly flat. but maybe it won't matter. it will only be partial in the Boston area, but it's "a thing". & maybe this time I won't to the cereal box trick

Having saved money yesterday mending the washing machine that's about to go, and more. My PC's hard drive blew last month and the back-up drive wouldn't work. Turns out our surge protector device isn't protecting.
The data off the back-up's recoverable but it'll be £200 as it goes onto a 1TB external hard drive. At least I've not lost everything over the past 20 years, although I'll have a bit from the past few months.

Don't think it was just the one layer being used. But it had been passed by the ophthalmologists at the hospital.I only used straight mylar on the cameras, There is an ISO standard for eclipse viewing glasses

I always keep hard copies of things that I can't afford to lose through computer mishaps. Although if you're generating huge amounts of stuff, it might not be entirely practical.
Basically it's everything from the last 25 years - all work and personal stuff. I've only lost a few things, including some recent e-mails, but the rest are recoverable. For that, and having a replacement back-up, I'm OK.
