A grey, humid and occasionally rainy day here chez Casa Reynard.
Had a lazy day on Sunday watching all the motor racing on TV, and then yesterday I spent it all out in the garden trying to get as much grass cutting done before the rain hit, because by the time it's dry again, everything will be waist high if I didn't!
One of the local branches of CP pinged me over the weekend with a possible match - a 7 month old kitten. I'm not sure what part of "I don't want a kitten" that they didn't understand... Given all the other fannying around, I am building the impression that this particular branch of CP are chronically inept. *SIGH*
I have had a quiet morning working on some design sketches for a friend's project. Not sure what I'll do this afternoon, but I do have to play tetris in the freezer at some point.
Anyways, it is almost time for luncheon.

There isn't. Other than the fact that people think it looks cute. The gene that causes the folded ears also makes the cats very prone to joint issues and arthritis. As well as ear issues like excess wax and the like. And as with the Manx*, you cannot breed a folded ear cat with a folded ear cat because you end up with kittens that have congenital abnormalities. The other issue is that a cat communicates a lot with its ears, and because the pinnae are folded, these cats can't do that.
Those kittens will have likely been either TICA or CFA-registered (not sure about FiFe), as the GCCF (Governing Council of the Cat Fancy - the primary registering body in the UK) does not and will not recognise the breed specifically for the reasons stated. This means that they cannot be shown at all, not even as a Household Pet.
* breeding rumpy (tailless) Manx to rumpy is actually lethal to the kittens in utero, so you have to breed rumpy to a cat with a tail. A Manx cat is actually a cat with Spina Bifida. Fortunately they are very rare on the show bench - I don't think may people breed them these days now that they know the genetic ins and outs. Same applies to the LH variant of the breed, the Cymric. The GCCF recognises this breed, but only because it was one of the "founding breeds" of the cat fancy. If it was a new breed applying for recognition, it would not pass muster.

A lovely luncheon of wild garlic ciabatta, pork liver pate, some very nice Danish cheese whose name escapes me, but it's like a cross between Manchego and Parmesan, an apple, some watermelon and two

Got the new stylus for my turntable, managed to get it for a fair bit less than the £399 some sellers wanted paying just over £260 and yes it is genuine (not a far eastern 'knockoff') not surprising really as it is quite an obscure cartridge with a Boron cantilever.

UK to hit 30C temperatures with Yorkshire to be England’s hottest area
Yorkshire is set to be one of the hottest places in England next week, with temperatures forecast to reach a sizzling 23C across the county.
It comes as a plume of warm weather from the Sahara is set to hit the UK, with experts predicting that a new hottest day of the year will be recorded before the end of May.
According to weather maps and charts from WX Charts , temperatures will reach 23C in parts of the country on Thursday, May 23, including the Midlands, North East and Yorkshire. Meanwhile in London, temperatures will reach highs of around 22C.
