Added mileage to the ebiked ride to the office this morning with after a third of a mile the realisation that what I had forgot was the helmet. Roadworks forced a rare eastbound use of the local cycle track.
Once at work a quick look at the diary and a trek to the doctors to book a BT.
Was meant to rain at lunchtime, not sure if it did.
Nice and sunny for the return home.
 
It's been a sunshine-and-showers day here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not sleep well - a mix of weird dreams and simply being restless. I didn't meet up with a friend for our weekly dog walk as we both decided it wasn't worth getting soaked. Sod's law then, that it was dry at the time we usually meet up. So I spent the morning doing the little things that needed doing and taking things gently after yesterday's madness.

Had a lovely luncheon of a chicken, cheese & coleslaw sandwich, fruit and a :cuppa:

A quiet afternoon was had. I've started the drawing for a new painting or drawing - I haven't decided whether I will proceed in watercolour or coloured pencils yet. Or even ink. I also popped round to the above friend's place to drop off some quiche and macaroons and cuddle a couple of cats. We had a nice chat and set the world to rights.

Now sat down with a :cuppa: and watching the early evening news.

I mix a bag of muesli with a bag of granola. Aside from being expensive free from varieties are typically are sky high in sugar. Currently settled on Co-Op museli at 12g/100g and a variety of granolas ranging from 3.5g/100g (which sells out very quickly when on offer) to 18g/100g. M&S use to do both with very low sugar but the current ones are musli at 15g/100g and granolas at 22.5g/100g.

Actually, the ordinary granola is pretty sky high in sugar as well - up to 25% for some of the fancier ones, which is insane. And tbh, not much difference that I can see between that and the free from, except probably the latter being guaranteed to be made on a GF production line.

The main thing is the difference in sugar. Dried fruit is natural sugar, which doesn't count towards the "free sugar" RDA, but the sugar syrup / corn syrup used to "stick" the granola together does.

I think it's largely just a case of reading the label.

And tbh, making your own means you can tailor it to your liking *and* have a nicer-tasting cereal into the bargain.

Ours is the Co-op one as well which i like a lot
