Problems with management's E-Bike.
"There's a flashing light and it won't go"

Analysis like that makes problem solving so easy.
Taking the p, I foolishly asked what sort of colour the light was.
"Sort of orchard apple green"
Me: internally groan but proceed. " Flashes, were they quick or slow?"
"O, I don't know, they were flashes and it won't go. I'm late for Flower Club"

Abandoned car less and left to my own devices I repair to the shed.
Being smarter than the average bear I looked up the fault code.
Turns out 2 flashes, repeated, means there is a motor fault.
This is off my skill map. But I know I'm expected to have a go. Asperge the bike with WD40 or a trip to somewhere to get a new bike are the options
As a gesture I take on the torque sensor. What was I thinking? Well not thinking.
Fortunately experience has taught me the value of taking photos as you go along.
Eventually I have it reassembled, installed and functioning.

Might be a pyrrhic victory if the motor has really gone to the fjords.

So, move on check all the other connections and circuits I can. Still avoiding touching the motor.
Expend WD40 liberally
Poke everything I can, except the motor. I'm avoiding that.

Eventually, several hours later, I'm reduced to taking on the motor
That requires removing the back wheel. The 17mm open ended spanner has vanished. Find one.

Remove the wheel, get the gears off. More WD40 and 2nd use toothbrushes are applied. Reassemble and include grease where it might help and copper ease where it might help next time. If there ever is one.
Reassemble, reinstall the battery, press the buttons. Fault gone and things look good.

Time for a test ride. Around the cul de sac and things look good. Head into the main road. Wow, 5 levels of assistance and this thing motors, over a few potholes and all the lights go out.

Push the on button, everything is back!
Looks like a loose wire somewhere
But I checked everything. Well, except the battery carrier.
So, I start removing the box of screws that hold it all together. All different sizes and heads of course.
Then take the cover off the battery input connection.
There's the negative lead, on the connection post, but the nut to secure it is loose.
That explains the intermittent fault.
A job of seconds and I've avoided the pressure off buying a new bike - for someone else.
Cup of tea and biscuit well earned.

I was sat on a fairly full bus this afternoon ; a “mother” boarded pushing a pram, various people moved out of the tip-up seats to make room for it. When the woman and her pram were safely stowed, necks started craning to see the “baby” which most definitely was some sort of schiztnauer x spaniel.

well that was a waste? of time. heard a weird wildlife type of yelp on one of our home security cameras. raced home to check on cat & for wildlife in the house & remembered the window in that room is open & there's a little kid playing outside who makes all sorts of sounds

It's been a warm and blustery day that's gradually got increasingly overcast.

Slept well, but feel bleurgh. A combo of lady issues and looks like another cold. Have dribbly nose and itchy eyes. Had a gentle morning pootling about with some chores. Watered the planters, as we'd escaped the forecast rain, and things were wilting a bit. Took some sausages and beef mince out of the freezer in order to make a meatloaf tomorrow.

Lovely luncheon of stilton & tomato chutney on toast, an apple, some blackberries and a :cuppa:

Spent part of the afternoon tinkering in the garage. Just like @Gwylan, I am dealing with an electrical fault. Albeit on a lawnmower, and it's not intermittent. The damn thing is as dead as a dodo in spite of a now fully-charge battery. I will need to check all the wiring (is there a dodgy connection somewhere?) or see of the emergency cut-off is somehow engaged. And electrics are NOT my forte...

After, popped out to do some errands. I swung by Jewson, but they don't stock the type of drill bit I'm after. Will try Cutlack's on Thursday. Then dropped into Tesco for bread and milk. Picked up two packets of rolls and two packets of dried apricots on YS.

And now it's time to feed the cat, and then it will be time to feed me.

I am usually a very patient patient, but that is starting to be diminished.

One of the GPs phoned me last week to ask if treatment was going well after my recent diagnosis. That diagnosis was 1st May. I have received a letter today telling me that I am not eligible for Covid vaccine this year. Receiving chemo treatment puts me on the "clinically vulnerable" list.

It is a good thing that I can email the Cancer Nurses Team, instead of using the phone.

In other news, I have won £325 on the Premium Bonds. ^_^

I have just started watching the Vuelta on Quest and so far I'm not impressed! The commentary is by an Irish woman an 2 blokes from Oz. The focussing appears to be from Today newspaper. If you can remember them they were the first to introduce 3D images, shame they didn't provide the glasses with the paper. I don't think I can watch an R of this. Sorry the accents are getting to me!
