My alarm is set for 02:00 for the next two days.. Once for fun: Once for work.

What fun, baring the obvious, can need an 0200 alarm?

Good morning from Suffolk where it's mostly sunny overhead, but still slightly soggy underfoot after yesterday evening's rain. Coffee has long been had and a second is being contemplated.

Tickets go on sale in about 20 minutes for a band I'd like to see, but I'm doubtful about getting one due to pre-sales and probably being targeted by resellers.

This afternoon is a family lunch get together - possibly the last for some time as my niece is off to start her PhD next week which makes it more of an access visit for the grandparents. I'm also the designated driver for mum & stepfather which means I've got to put the back seats back up in the car as it's been in bike carrying mode for the past few months. It will also be an opportunity to test fit the new sat nav to check for cable run and positioning.

Tandem is back from its "part 2" rebuild. Time for a ride out to test it. Go at 10.00 before the rain at midday.

Rolled it up the drive and climbed on, only to discover they'd fitted a fine-adjustment saddle rail for me but made no attempt to replicate the height and angle of the one they'd removed: it was all over the place. Back into the garage for a fairly cumbersome adjustment (have to drop the stoker's bars to access the adjusters).

Started absolutely hammering down with rain so really glad we'd been unable to just ride off. We'll go on Sunday instead

Didn't know that there's zero communication between hospital and surgery. They don't share even the blood tests results.

No the Hospital will send any results to the GP's surgery in a report, whether the GP reads it or not is another matter entirely. I've had a consultant wanting to send me for an MRI scan on my neck so I told him "I cannot have an MRI scan it would have to be a CT scan." The consultant wrote in his report to my GP that I had said this with the comment "I don't know who told him that" but as I pointed out to my GP I have a nearly 2 foot long metal rod in my Femur so cannot have an MRI scan, The GP's reply was "These 'Consultants' never read up on a patients medical history"
