It's been a bright but quite cold day here chez Casa Reynard after a sharp frost early doors.
Did not sleep well, and have been feeling tired, snot-filled and stressy all day. I do not enjoy adulting. Did not have the weekly dog walk, which was just as well. Scudded through the chores, then off into the garden to carry on dismantling the largest (and furthest away) of the fainted ash trees. Also felled and cut up the stump of a dead oak.
I got a bit carried away, and cut up more than I thought, so skipped luncheon to haul it all in and stack it before dark. It's got to that time of year where, on good / dry days, luncheon will be put on the back burner to take advantage of the daylight. The ash wood is a bit odd - it's not green, but it's not dry / dead wood. You can tell that by the quality and feel of the sawdust. I have a whole trailer load of it stashed in the garage, and will see how well it burns.
That said, I've got plenty of firewood in the garage anyway, so the excess will be stacked on the fence, and I can always take some of the wood that's already been drying for a couple of years instead.
Will do more wood tomorrow - but sourced from some fainted conifers. That wood is nice and dry and good to go.
Had a

and a slice of toast with marmite once I was done.
