Blue sky and very white frost on the ground. Workmen are drilling holes in the road again; they were at it at 9:30pm last night.

Are they trying to make Swiss cheese?

It's been a bright but quite cold day here chez Casa Reynard after a sharp frost early doors.

Did not sleep well, and have been feeling tired, snot-filled and stressy all day. I do not enjoy adulting. Did not have the weekly dog walk, which was just as well. Scudded through the chores, then off into the garden to carry on dismantling the largest (and furthest away) of the fainted ash trees. Also felled and cut up the stump of a dead oak.

I got a bit carried away, and cut up more than I thought, so skipped luncheon to haul it all in and stack it before dark. It's got to that time of year where, on good / dry days, luncheon will be put on the back burner to take advantage of the daylight. The ash wood is a bit odd - it's not green, but it's not dry / dead wood. You can tell that by the quality and feel of the sawdust. I have a whole trailer load of it stashed in the garage, and will see how well it burns.

That said, I've got plenty of firewood in the garage anyway, so the excess will be stacked on the fence, and I can always take some of the wood that's already been drying for a couple of years instead.

Will do more wood tomorrow - but sourced from some fainted conifers. That wood is nice and dry and good to go.

Had a :cuppa: and a slice of toast with marmite once I was done.

Christmas has emerged from the loft.. 🎅

Christmas is still staying up in the loft for another three weeks. That said, I shall probably cut some greenery from the garden (holly, ivy, pine) and put some in my big Bohemian glass vase.

Holly has been stonking this year, so will make a wreath for the door rather than trotting out the back-up fake one.

I've been doing artwork for most of the day.Had to finish some Christmas tree decorations which are going to be put up on some trees tomorrow. The theme was based around the museums camera club. The theme is Past, Present and Future. I have burnt images of cameras onto plywood which resemble the way in which the images are captured, from a glass plate type camera, through a 35 mm film camera with slide film to an I phone. They took a while as each image had to be drawn several times.
