Usual Friday half day. It was a frosty start that turned into a cold but beautiful day.

I escaped for about forty miles on the bike, a lot of it off-road on the bridle path that leads through the national park.

I had hoped to get something to eat at the café there but they close earlier at this time of year and I got turfed out with just some snacks as I arrived just as they were getting ready to lock up.

I did have some company whilst I dined.

You'd have thought they'd have welcomed the passing trade.

At least I got everything done before the rain started this afternoon so that should give me a full week and a bit clear of domestics.

More money has been spent on a hotel, train tickets and a gig ticket - I decided to go with the one I spotted late yesterday as it's the easier to get to one of the two being in Guildford instead of Manchester (where I seem to be spending a lot of time this year). The hotel and outward part of the trip are covered by the compensation cheque from the RAC for the call-out fiasco which arrived today and has already been electronically deposited in my bank account.

The evening's hot chocolate has been had and next up is the last of a pack of Bierra Morretti I was given for my birthday a month ago.

Having a gigantic violent thunderstorm here, got home in time to bring in groceries, and sit down to some Triscuits with Cotswold cheese
