Void of phone! My wife's friend who is in her 80's has just upgraded to broad beans , she used to have a BT land line. Now she has nothing. The peeps who connected her up said that they weren't allowed to do internal stuff so she now hasn't got a landline or broadband. My wife was worried the other day because she hadn't turned up at the museum like she said. My wife couldn't phone her and couldn't get in because the silly old woman had left the key in the lock. We were about to call the police because we were worried about when she eventually turned up. Over a year ago she broke her ankle and couldn't move. My wife stayed with her whilst she waited for an ambulance. It was the morning before an ambulance arrived. Because of that her stay in hospital was much longer due to the fact she had been on the floor all night.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Rough night with hip and back pain. MrsF went for a swim at 7am so I got up and repaired one of the legs supporting the decking near our summer house. Removed two deck boards, jacked the joists up and replaced the leg. All done in 30 minutes.

Now in North Wales and MrsF gone for another swim. Lunch soon and she'll probably have another dip before we head home.

I'm presuming MrsFossyant's a mermaid?

I rode my first time trial in almost two years this afternoon in the 'Steel road bike category (hadn't seen one of those before). Came 3rd behind steel TT bikes, so I was happy enough with that. And my pink Raleigh 653 had admiring looks and questions from those on 'proper' carbon TT bikes.

Oh, and this evening I've built up a giant bedroom cupboard that I brought home after my father's house move last month. He was going to leave this big piece of bespoke furniture which was in a spare room, so I asked if I could have it with son no. 1 having a matching wardrobe. The removal firm kindly dismantled it, which saved time, but left me with a load of pieces and a handful of screws/bolts.

It's all back together eventually - correctly - and will suit the guest bedroom / second office nicely.

The mucky bike is now a clean and shiny bike having been finished off with car polish on the frame & mudguards. A half hour snooze was then had followed by a couple of sausage half baguettes for tea. Hot chocolate is next.

GP qualifying has been watched
Rugby now
I shall be doing that shortly (the results are known), although from what I've seen of the free practice sessions I'm not impressed with the technology being used this year. The F2 & F3 races have also been recorded along with the Indycar from Phoenix so it's a motorsports evening ahead.

Forgot to mention that I've finally replaced the old halogen bulbs in the bike shed with LED ones which I've had in stock for a long time. They're more than a bit harsh being 6000k and 345lm but will do in there and I'll save the 'warmer' light LEDs which I've also had in stock as spares for the kitchen.
