Just messaged a cycling mate in Belgium as not seen any rides or insta from him for a bit, which is odd. Althoug he does suffer with his mental health and winter usually gets him. Big cyclist, ex pro racer and is usually knocking the miles out. He more recently got together with a lady cyclist we've all known years. Things were going well.

Did some digging last night and found a post from his lady that he'd had a pulmonary embolism whilst on a family walk over Christmas when back here. Nothing posted since.

Messaged him to see how he is. Fit as a fiddle he is. Blimey.

Grey and damp here, looks like a repeat of yesterday, fine drizzle.
Have any of you worked in a fat tree? I woke up thinking of the few times I did. What came to mind was working in 2 factories which made coffee machines. The first one I went to do powder coating, it became boring. The second factory was smaller and I worked in sub assembly, fitting studs, bushes, deburring, some folding and checking new designs. So I did quite a lot of the manufacturing of a coffee machine. I found it interesting all of the different processes and components that went into each machine. I liked the small factory and got on well with the workers, it was fun, totally different to working in a garage repairing cars although my experience at knocking dents out came in handy.

Now I have travelled down stairs I can see it's rained at some point overnight.
Garden bird feeders have been topped up.

I was looking at TIG welders on the net yesterday. I have a mig welder, broken at the moment, but always fancied a TIG. There are some cheap Chinese one around at the moment, they are all probably made in China now. I did see a very misleading ad on the bay. It looked very cheap, it turned out to be just the pedal control and not a welder.
I should have left the spell check word in. It said I had a migraine welder!

It was a Victoria sponge that Mrs 73 took to the outlaws after I got asked to make one. As part of the planned outlaws golden wedding anniversary weekend celebrations.

Spent the morning getting ahead of the normal Monday house work. Bathroom and kitchen all done along with all down stairs paintwork.

Good morning from Suffolk where it's another morning of thick cloud cover and mist.

Coffee along with a lie in and the radio have been had. Given the weather I don't think I'll be doing much for a while, but a walk or bike ride may be had into town to use up this week's free hot drink code. There's also this morning's Australian GP to watch if I can be bothered having already read the reports (no spoilers will be given for those that haven't).

Had a reply. Only just been able to go home to Belgium. He's previously had a DVT in his leg but been fine. This was a shot out of the blue. Also left him with AF. He's managed some short walks and a short ride keeping his heart under 100. This is someone who was constantly knocking out 100 miles a few times a week.
