On late shift so no riding this morning with the club and although tomorrow looks good I put my hand up for overtime tomorrow as you can't turn down double time so I'm hoping the weather will give me chance tomorrow afternoon.
Today is another day of decorating as I have so much to do I could do with a month off work just to get it done.
Cycling is my release but I just don't have the time ATM

OK now back from Bike Shop. Much less painful on the wallet than expected - gears just needed a bit of adjustment, tyres pumped and a drop of oil on the chain. Cost £0.00.

So felt a bit mean walking out without making a purchase. Hence a new track pump to replace the one I gave to my grandchildren. Seems kinda fair.

Good morning from Suffolk where it's a wet, breezy, grey & miserable start to the day. Coffee has been had accompanied by the sound of a car alarm occasionally going off - it's not mine or the neighbours' so it probably one of those abandoned by a footballing parent.

There's a load of washing currently getting near the spin cycle that will need to go onto the clothes horse to dry and the Chromebook wants yet another restart to apply an update and that's about all the excitement for the day.

Second cuppa went down well earlier
Had a really heavy rain shower earlier.
Oh and I want into a bike shop and bought something white 🤔
Ouch aren't bikes expensive

Meh, woke at 5am..lay there thinking, shall I get out with the camera ?
Hang on (still in bed)...is that rain?..bugger.

So why the moment I pick up the girls at 12 ish and my momentary freedom is over...does the sun come out ?

Took advantage of the gap in the rain for a four mile walk on the local footpaths & bridleways and got home just as it started to drizzle again.

I may stretch out on the sofa and won't resist any temptation for a snooze once I've had a hot chocolate.

Seemed fine this morning initially but putting a pair of shoes immediately resulted in rain. Turned sunny after 4. Evening 3.4 mile B&Q and Tesco trek for a new watering can rose and Clubcard apples and oranges.

Now that it has stopped raining, I can't be bothered going for a ride now!

Following a conversation with a colleague about my Hebridean trip yesterday, and him wondering if it could be done by car, curiosity got the better of me and I filled some details into P&O and Calmac websites.

My six ferries would have cost me nearly £700 if I'd done it by car.

Who says cycling doesn't save money!

It's been a cool and mostly soggy and squelchy day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well enough, but wished there'd been an extra blanket on the bed. So downstairs, feed the cat, make a and take it upstairs to do some writing. Have started a new chapter, where one of the characters is based on an ex of mine. Oooooh, I'm going to have fun with this!

Downstairs at a more decent hour. Did the chores, but no need to water any of the planters. Other than that, I have had a very quiet day, watching the horse racing from Epsom and listening to the F1 from Monaco.

Lovely luncheon of a cheese & salad roll, home made crisps and a pot of tea.

Spent part of the afternoon doing the drawing for a painting. Watched a bunch of Guy Martin progs on D-Day. I also kept an eye on an ebay auction for a Longines watch I was interested in, but the bidding was already at the top of my budget, so I didn't throw my hat in the ring. The stainless steel ones tend to be more desirable than the plated ones. I've made a note of the reference, and will keep my eyes open for another at a better price.

Wasn't hungry and didn't really want to cook anything, but ended up throwing a red lentil, potato & coconut dhal together, and had it with basmati rice. I've enough for a few days. It's very nice though, for something that used up some random odds and ends.

Now watching the England v New Zealand footy game. It's half time, so I'd better wash up!

Only a short 15 minute snooze this afternoon, just as part 3 of the Monaco F1 qualifying started so that required a catch up pre-teatime. The good news is that it finally stopped raining at some point this evening.

Nothing has been done since the washing up other than to make the evening's hot chocolate and I think I'm going to have a beer or three while doing a bit of reading.
