My card's been scammed

I used my phone to buy a map in the Aviemore branch of a well known book shop recently. Where you authorise the contactless payment with your fingerprint. The shop assistant sounded most impressed, something like "Oh, posh ! We haven't seen much of that".

How do I do that? Point it at them like a gun and demand a map?

My PayPal was hacked and used to buy £500 of stuff from JD Sports. They said they couldn't stop it being collected and charged. So I told them the card was cancelled and PayPal had blocked it. Suddenly the lady on the phone declared that they'd managed to stop it within 1 minute.
Strange how a guarantee of no cash spurs people on.

Natwest let you inform them of overseas travel in advance via the App, did it recently for Spain, not that I used m y debit card

could have been avoided if they would have let me let them know in advance that I was going to be in Colorado. But of course that's not necessary these days

My bank asks for that, it even has an automated telephone service where you give details of the dates you'll be away etc.

You should see people's faces in Norfolk when I pay contactless on my watch. They think I am a wizard or a time traveller.

Imagine the wonderment on their faces when one arrives in a car!

Being absolutely crap with new technology i haven't the faintest. I just go with the flow.

Sort of!

RFID for cards, NFC for mobiles/wearable tech.

No. Contactless fraud is incredibly low relative to how much is spent.
