New Boardman padded shorts - anyone else had issues?

Evening all.

I got someone to get me some new Boardman padded shorts for Christmas - see link below - because I already had a pair and they were comfortable so I thought I'd stick with what I know.
I wore them for the first time yesterday and they flaming crucified me.
The padding seems much narrower at the front or something so the seams are in a strategically not good place.
Has anyone else notice the redesign of the padding and had a problem with them?

They look as though they have very narrow padding at a crucial point, i wouldn't want to go any distance wearing those.

As both pairs are fresh out of the wash I felt it was safe to take a photo of what I found when I compared the two pairs side by side

The New ones are on the left. I don't think they will be worn again.

Except at £12 new the postage will be as much as the amount someone will pay for used shorts

A bit of poetic licence..........sell them as "worn once by Pamela Anderson".............you may make a fortune

Looks like they've been a bit too economical with that padding!
