O.K. I'm new-ish to commuting on my bike. It's 10 months old and after fitting a new chain last week, it still slipped a bit so I rode to my bike shop for a new chain ring and cassette. They didn't have one in stock and, as they gave me a reasonable quote for a service, supply AND fitting I left it with them. The Mrs picked it up today and when I looked at the new chainring, the middle sprocket looked knack'd, or at least really badly made! The teeth are all different shapes and sizes. I'm glad I did a bit of research first and found out that this is how they're designed, and didn't make a phone call of complaint or I'd have felt like a right Muppett. I could've sworn my old chain rings teeth were the same height/shape? But maybe I never really looked closely at them. Anyway, the bikes back to being super smooth, and I'll be glad to get off the old MB and back on the hybrid next week.

Learning all the time.
