Opened 2025, closed 2026 and £1.5m spent. 2 year closure saves the council from actually having to maintain and look after the cycle lane for that time.

It is only parts of it which will be closed. Not clear from the article how much will be affected.

This is more-or-less on my doorstep.
When UU "re-instate" the path it will likely be evident that their contractors have done a slap-dash-half-arsed job ... like every other job UU has done in my part of the world.
