Hi all just thought i would share my new front light with you.

What lights have you bought recently ?

Just bought from dealextreme...

http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12060 torch

http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15642 mount

http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.936 charger

http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5776 batteries

http://dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2709 plug adapter

All for £32 postage is free.

The torch listing states that its 900 lumens but members have been posting reviews stating more like 600 lumens (which is still mega bright)

I have stepped up the lighting and gear this year as my wife has just passed her test and we are a 1 car family with 2 children.

So I am on the bike 100% full time now.

i'll post pictures and stuff when it arrives.

I have one of these http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15691

With these batteries http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5776 & this charger http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6105

Didn't bother with the plug adapter, just cut the US one off 7 wired a 13A one on.

Stupidly bright - probably too much for the road on full, OK on low.

I hardly think the roads are more dangerous just because your wife has passed her test

got two fenix LD20 recently, great light,
5hrs burn time on high mode, more than enough for un-lit country lane.
Havent try tubro mode yet.

Just one thing, the beam from both torch seems to produce different shade of light... which is abit annoying.

Be prepared for a long wait, I ordered one of these

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.22569

on the 8th October, it was shipped on the 20th October and I still haven't got it , as with all stuff from DX you need the patience of a saint.

I bought some cat eye loop thingies you attach with little bungy rubbers attached to the lights. With the clocks going back and the start of dark evening commutes, I realised I wanted one light flashing and one steady both fore and aft. So the loops flash. They are noticeable, flash out sideways as well as front and back, and cost 18 quid the pair.

impressed...

I would just like to say the p7 mte torch has turned up, I was like a big kid waiting for the 18650 battery to charge up, switched it on and i thought well its not bad... (I did'nt know it was on low) then medium (which i thought was high) then... high OMG xx(

When on high I would say (without exaggerating) this torch is like a motorbike light. It really is that bright.

I tried it next to my 2 tesco torches in the back garden and there is no comparison whatsoever, not even near, the flood this p7 throws out is immense.

It will be the first road test in the morning which i'm looking forward to and i'll report back tomorrow night.

I will do a full review in the reviews forum with beam shots and full pro's and cons.

Only rode in one day since I fitted it so not much to say yet, but I'm planning on posting a review once it's done a month or so.

I'd really like to compare this to a hub dynamo setup, so if anyone out there has a hub dynamo light, commutes down the A10 to the City and is up for a quick compare some evening give me a shout.

slower but further
I got this (in about 10 days) recommended by two people on another cycle forum: https://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14909

It is brilliant in all respects. The Cree bulb is amazing. Mounted with a couple of jubilee clips on the bars it lights up the whole lane. You can see every pothole.

Downside it is simple on/off - no dimming. I use it with a conventional 'flashing' Cateye just switching it on out of streetlights. Battery burn time is not fantastic (~2 hours). I carry a small stock of rechargeables so i could get through most of the night if necessary. Build feels solid and $18.80 is a lot less than the equivalent Fenix.
