its the groupset yes, wheels i am not too fussed about branding aslong as they are lightweight and are deep rimmed
What's the thinking behind not getting a gruppo and wheels of similar stature / price? Do you think you'll find that you are likely to upgrade the wheels for a second time when you move to a new frame as they don't fit in with the eventual new steed?

Still no idea of your budget, but you can buy a full Ultegra groupset for 550 quid here

or just the 10 speed gear kit for 275 quid

the wheel's are simply to get abit better performance and mainly to lighten the bike, as the current wheels are rather heavy

@Mr Haematocrit for the authority on Chinese carbon wheels

I personally wouldn't want to ride on roads on something untested and unwarranted from the other side of the world, but then I'm risk averse. I don't think truing is the issue

Something like this?

@vickster - those links both bring up Prolite's Bracciano wheels in Campag hub only - no Fulcrum.

The dudes runnin' Shimano.

Not complainin' - was on't tinterweb last night getting tutorials on how to create a hyperlink & it's still all Dutch to me.

Along with your new hoops - buy some light weight/fast rollin' tyres such as Schwalbe Ultremos or Specialized Turbo's or maybe Continentals & some mid weight tubes from Conti - Race tubes will give you loads of punctures.

Carbon bars and stem will make zero difference to the weight of the bike, but they will look nice. Buy them by all means but don't expect to go any faster!

I don't think you have to have campag gearing to use wheels with campag hubs but I could be completely wrong....nope it doesn't matter according to campag...which doesn't surprise me as campag isn't nearly as widely used but most wheels appear to have a campag option

http://www.campagnolo.com/jsp/en/faq/faqcatid_8.jsp#44. Question 5

Yes. Campagnolo wheels are compatible with both Shimano and SRAM components. To use Campagnolo wheels with any drivetrain on the market, Campagnolo produces two types of freewheel body: a specific one for Campagnolo drivetrains (from 9- to 11-speed) and one for non-Campagnolo drivetrains (from 8- to 10-speed).

Now I have no idea whether this is the case with those specific wheels. Wiggle have for shimano for £300 ish

The link to crc was simply for illustration. Bloke can do his own searching for price, colour etc

for wheels only about 250, at the moment looking at the Chinese carbon wheels but if anyone can recommend a nice set of wheels for around 250 that would be great, i am looking for lightness mainly, i find truing very therapeutic lol so they do not need to be super reliable

Saying Chinese wheels is a bit like saying European wheels. There is massive spread of quality between different Chinese manufacturers. I suggest you do more research before spending.

Agree, I've been riding around on Conti Supersonic tubes for a year now, only one puncture (a slow puncture, unfortunately during a race, racing a hill climb up Long Hill with a slowly deflating tyre, not good for the mind)!

I also agree. Nearly 8000 miles since I switched to latex race tubes and one puncture in that time. That's in combination with lightweight race carcass.

O.k @Dusty Bin @ VamP & @ Rob3rt I concede.

I was a little presumptuous over the 'Race' tubes thing - however & in my defence - it is only info gained from hundreds of hours of reading bike mags as I haven't actually ever fitted them.

The closest to Supersonics I dared venture were Race Lites.
