I wait to see. Abrams undoubtedly delivers the gloss and the action but it's whether he gets the underplot and subtleties. He farked up Star Trek like that. It was big and bold and on the face of it true to the origins but lacked subtlety and depth; basically a caricature. Let's hope he's done better with Star Wars.
I thoroughly enjoyed Abrams' Star Trek reboots. That's the only reason I'm looking forward to this... but Abrams did make that stinker called Lost too. so it could go either way.

I enjoyed it but I didn't feel any connection to it.

I'm also not really a fan of the continual reboot films like Spiderman and Batman, to name but two and Star Trek felt like that.

I can't wait - I still remember going to see the original when it came out at the "big" cinema in Liverpool. Queued around the block with my brother and Gran to see it

I'm not in love with Star Wars but i have recently enjoyed watching them again, this time with my daughter. I felt the same about the Star Trek movies but loved the modern versions.

I wonder how many multi millions that Harrison Ford demanded for his part, no doubt it was an obscene amount

If the studio were prepared to pay it I don't think he is to blame, they could easily have told him no.

Its a "must see" for me. Think I'll start training by watching the DVD's - or are they on VHS, can't remember?
I watched most of the lot on YouTube a couple of months back, with minor edits (such as removing JarJars antics) Lucasfilm doesn't seem to mind. Quality is not so good, obviously.
