Aye, they haven't spoiled anything really, 3 trailers in we still don't know anything about the plot, not a bad feat
Oh i dunno... this latest trailer revealed that John Boyega and Daisy Ridly's characters haven't seen the other 6 films.

I'll go, but I'm scared it will let me down. It might be one for an afternoon off work after the schools go back. The sheer joy of being child free for a few hours can make a mediocre film enjoyable, even if the nachos are cold. Of course, this does depend on me being able to control my offence at the current price of a cinema ticket and being prepared to hand the money over on the day.

I'll go and see it. But as a 13 year old who first saw the original episode 4 back in 1978, I don't see how they can develop the story. The first trilogy was about the defeat of an empire, the prequels about it's rise. What are they going to do now?. The rise of another empire?. If so, it's just a bit of cyclical money making as it'll be 1-6 all over again but with a younger cast, flashy effects etc. Originally, back in the late 70's, I recall Lucas himself saying that it would be 9 episodes, but he later said that it would do better as 6.
I'm also getting a bit fed up of SW fans practically wetting themselves over this. It's only a movie......

I can recall watching parts of Star Wars but I haven't a clue if I've seen the whole thing. Does it count if you fall asleep in the middle?

BTW, my SiL is a fan.
No, but there will be a version featuring the back of someone's head speaking in Thai on a torrent the day after it comes out!
I had a dodgy-download of the 1st Star Trek reboot which, although it didn't have any audience silhouettes, was cropped so tightly that heads and feet were often missing from the frame. Back to The Force Awakens... If i don't splash out £8 at the cinema, I'll wait for a DVD-rip and if like it, I'll eventually buy it.

Is your avatar betraying a prejudice?
No, not really. Some like to pretend a rivalry exists between ST & SW fans and also Dr Who/ST/SW fans. Childish, really. I enjoy ST, it's been around longer than SW, is more science orientated, that's all. It's worth noting that George Lucas himself said he took breaks from writing SW to watch Trek repeats on TV^_^. BTW, SW does pinch bits from other SF - look up the origin of 'blaster' for sci fi weapons.

SW was fun, but leans more towards fantasy than pure SF. I saw the original SW when I was 13, so I suppose I could say I'm of the SW original generation. I don't dislike it, just think that folk are going a bit OTT at what is only a movie.

The first film I ever saw at the cinema was Star Wars:Episode IV. My dad took me and it will be an event that will remain in my memory for ever.

After the disappointments that were Episodes I-III, I can't wait for this.

I have put in an order for some Scotch Bonnet chilli jam. Where shall I send it @Drago ^_^

Just booked my ticket for this dec, lucky as very nearly sold out bar crappy seats at the edges.

Only annoyance is I wanted to see it at the Odeon Leicester Sq but it's dominated by 3d which I hate. Only 2d is early morning or nearly midnight!

Seeing it at O2 which is still a good screen.

As a Star Wars fan Im geeking out :hyper:

As someone who fell asleep through the first episode of the prequel trilogy despite the cinema's sound system being set to 11 on a scale of 1-10, I assume that the subsequent episodes equally equally soporific.

The 'proper' trilogy however is eminently watchable.

Attack of the Clones (episode ii) achieved what I thought was impossible, it raised my opinion of episode i. Its easily the worst film in the series.

Revenge of the Sith on the other hand is the best of the prequels and a good film. Its worth giving it a watch and may surprise you.

That's not the real Darth. Saw him on his mobility scooter a few weeks ago.
is that why Chewie was driving him to the polls in Ukraine?

Chewbacca was arrested after refusing to show documentation to police, outside an Odessa polling station. ‘Chewie’ was approached by police after chauffeuring ‘Darth Vader’ to the polling station.
