Father of an Aunt had seen the original film and needed an excuse to go and see it again - which is were I came in. He happened to be an officer on an oil tanker and gave me some promotional stuff for his employers (BP). Which turned out to influence the secondary school I chose (Trinity House) and hence started me on the seafaring career route, which I'm still doing now.

Stormtrooper would have been a lot more interesting

Its a film, not the Second Coming and to enjoy this film, the only way to enjoy it, is as a film

Snot though.

Sure, the rational, sensible, calm side of me...the side that likes people to think it is all grown up, cultured and erudite...will agree.

But there is a dark side (see what I did there) of me that knows that this, like very few other examples that transcend their form...is not Just a film.

Its part of culture, almost history and a part that was so royally screwed up the last time that many...probably all of us are hoping that Abrams...might just...possibly...do it all justice.

Feel the force people!

And try not to mistake it for effecting marketing.

I'll wait for the entire new series to be sold on DVDs, and then (if the reviews are positive), I'll watch them. Film theatres are overrated.

It looks good to me, will definately be going to see this in the cinema. Thankfully it feels nothing like the disappointing (to put it mildly) prequels.
