Below zero in rural NE Fife. Not that bad until I have to turn into the cross / head wind straight off the sea. The wind chill took my breath away. Very cold finger tips despite having full winter gloves on. Just been out and discovered the wind has picked up and shifted around to the west. At least it will be a warm head wind for the run home.
 
I was being flippant about the 'unprepared motorist' phenomenon, earlier, but sadly for one unfortunate driver today's sudden frost has led to tragedy:

I am guessing that the car involved was an automatic in 'drive' with the engine running, or maybe the handbrake wasn't fully engaged. Or maybe it developed a fault, which is scary. I would be very wary of leaving a car with the engine running.
