I generally don't give a FF, about the 'modern world'. It's a bit of a mystery to me. I just let it go, and do what I've got to do.
Twitter is great for keeping up with stuff and following interests. It helped me out no end to get to the channel tunnel last summer in the face of huge tailbacks. I haven't actually tweeted anything yet, I'm just not that interesting. A Facebook acct. I don't have, it just does not appeal. I might try Instagram for the same reasons as Twitter, plus I prefer to communicate through pics or would if I could be bothered to communicate.
Am I missing something here? If they aren't watching any live tv, they don't need a license. My colleagues don't buy TV Licenses as they say they never watch live TV - all streamed these days apparently- try telling them they 'do' need one.
Brilliant, well done youOne of my clients at work sat in front of me tapping away on their phone, totally oblivious to the fact that I had stopped talking and was waiting, and waiting.
So I got my phone out, sat back in my chair, put my feet up on the desk and started my own tapping. This got their attention, never did it again.
And star wars., ET, Jaws, Italian job...And we're now further away from the summer of punk than it was from the outbreak of WW2...
Only 84 years away! Not a lot when you think about it.I heard on the radio yesterday that babies being born these days will probably be alive in the year 2100.
That made me think a bit ...

That's what was rather ... surprising. I won't be around then, though.Only 84 years away! Not a lot when you think about it.
The amusing thing to me in my last few years at work was the limits on my colleagues knowledge. Most only had a very narrow understanding of their own field within mobile telecomms. When I was an apprentice we were exposed to a wide range of areas so I could turn my skills to most of the areas, or at least understand the principles of what was being talked about.
