I don't think anyone claimed it was homophobic. As I said earlier, I'm just surprised that some people still find that kind of out-dated 'gay/lycra' stereotype nonsense funny. Even without the gay references, it's still a tired joke.

It also reinforces the general prejudice against cyclists. Every time someone objects to this continual anti-cyclist so-called "humor", they get chastised for not having a sense of humor, thus perpetuating the view that it's acceptable to ridicule cyclists. That's the prevailing attitude in Australia, too, and many other 'Western' countries.

How am I associated with bigotry? Why you would think that is ever more deserving of explaination. As I said you have made your assumptions. Based on what?

Just wondering, and he/she seems strangely reluctant to answer. He/she has made assumptions about my character based on the fact that I see no harm in the article in the op, even found it amusing, then seemed to suggest some biggoted comedians to whos views he 'tacitly' suggests I might align myself with.

I mearly enquire as to the possibility to reciprocate. I think he/she either has something to hide or has absolutely no sense of humour.

I think this is now on topic.
