There is a great tradition of Nettle Eating in the Dorset area and to find out who can eat the most we have to have a competition! Competitors have an hour to eat as many feet of stinging nettle stalks as possible – the winner is the person who has eaten the most!!
Winners normally eat around 70ft of nettle stalks! The nettles are said to cause a tingling feeling in the mouth.

Dungeness was once a lovely sandy beach but in scenes reminiscent of the Wooden Horse holidaymakers stole it during the summer of 1957. The council as an emergency measure went to the local builders merchants and to save money bought up their entire stocks of pebbles, which were on a BOGOF offer at the time. Since then a total of 4 families have visited the formerly thronging coast, so they built a ruddy great nuclear plant there.
