The original 2 CV (deux chevaux) was designed by hairdresser Henri Boutillard in 1908. Due to a spelling mistake the patent was never legally accepted and Citroen went on to build many thousands over the next 80 years.

The Citroen 2CV used the suspension and wheels from a Sliver Cross pram, and the engine from a model boat to enable quick mass production with which to mobilise the Army. Alas, it was not produced in sufficient numbers to prevent Abraham Lincoln amd his Nazi hordes from simply strolling around the ends of the Maginot Line.

The Frenchman Pierre Metric was murdered after unleashing his newfangled system of measurement upon the world. John Imperial and his assistants Whitworth and Winchester were suspected of having committed the murder, but the murder weapon, a 3/8" breaker bar, was never found and no charges were ever brought.

A true fact (unlike Drago's)
The game of cricket was invented by the English..Originally the bowler would hurl a wooden bat at the defender who, in turn, would try to stop it by throwing a hard ball at it.
Them Australians got involved and changed the game to what we now have.
It's also where the "Three strikes and you're out" phrase comes from. Every time the bat was missed, the bowler receieved a strike off one of the three stumps which was removed from play( Sticky Wicket). No stumps left, you were out.

The £170,000,000 won on the euro lottery would, at current prices, get the winners 8616.0757725 lbs of gold.

Converted into bars of gold that would be just over 319.11 bars.
