How do you find out the prices ... I'm intending to go to the rowing!!! (and stay at my parents for cheap accommodation even if all the rest of the family do the same we can pitch tents in the garden).
I was about to suggest accommodation, then I remembered that I'm pretty much neighbours with your parents.
Its just a pity that it is a city which wins the games and not an entire region or country. For me to travel over to see any event even buying the cheapest tickets is still going to cost a lot.
Nope, I don't agree with that one either as the venues are spread between various parts of London, Windsor and Weymouth and the footie is all over the country.
It has to be somewhere, they can't start the 100m in Cardiff and finish it in Edinburgh and they need to have a base for the Olympic village. I think they've done a good job dividing it up.
I've registered to be a volunteer, so if I am lucky enough to be picked I'll see quite a bit of the games. Down side, it'll be a month off work !
Thanks for the reminder, I meant to sign up for that too. I was lucky to spend quite some time speaking with the cop who is in charge of the policing, fascinating insights about the sort of things that they consider to be risks.
I doubt that the volunteers will see much at all, to be honest. A lucky few might get into the stadiums but I think most will be wearing some silly uniform and standing around in a windswept car park directing people to the nearest toilets.
They even want to charge for the road race and time trial.
I understand that most of the road racing and time trial will be free to watch, just the seating at the finishes will be charged.
