How on earth would the spoon whittlers find time to whittle if they had to do their own ironing?

My skin could do with a good ironing, BTW.

Yep, our cleaner does a pile of work shirts at £1 each.

Can't remember the last time I ironed anything. The trick is to hang the shirts on hangers as soon as the rinse cycle finishes. When dry, no creases.

I hadn't ironed a thing for years until last week. In fact, it took me a while to remember where the iron even was as it's never been used in this house.
I give everything a good shake as it comes out of the washer, and hang it up or fold it neatly until there's space for it to dry and it hasn't been a problem at all, until I had to start wearing a proper blouse to work.
I can't for the life of me get the creases out wihtout the iron. Most unimpressed with the situation.

When the Bently is in for a service or my butler has time off (yeah, I know, I'm all heart) Wifie drops my shirts and troosers off at the local Sainsbury's. Upon collection she leaves them all on the bed and claims that she has personally done my ironing.....what a star :smooch:

It's a bit more complicated than that...
If you work in a conventional office, wearing ironed shirts is essential - but there's literally nothing else that needs ironing. When a shop opened up near us advertising ironing it got our custom very quickly. We gather that a lot of its custom comes from parents of schoolchildren.

We do live in a time-poor, cash-rich area a lot of whose residents commute to London, so if you're in a less affluent area there may be a smaller market.
